'Onliwon' (Nut Photo) 'Onliwon'
(pronounced Only One) is a 'San Saba' seedling, selected by E.
E. Risien from his orchard in San Saba, Texas. It was first advertised
the 1916 catalog of Risien's West Texas Pecan Nursery. Nuts are
oval elliptic with acute apex and rounded base; round in cross
section; about 64 nuts/lb, 60% kernel. Kernels cream to golden
in color, with medium to narrow dorsal grooves and a very distinctive
dorsal ridge that is reduced from the middle to the apex (sometimes
called "broken back"). Protandrous bloom pattern.
