'Carlson #3' (photo) Selection made by I. N. Carlson, New Boston, Mercer County IL., and included in University of Nebraska Test, Lincoln, NE. Nut is oblong, with acute apex and acute base, round in cross section; 110.8 nuts per lb., <50% kernel; kernels golden to light brown in color, with shallow dorsal grooves. Thick shell, good quality, mod. productivity, early harvest (see Gustafson et al., 1981 NNGA 72:57) (NNGA 81:47-55, 1990)
