'Nugget' Native selection from the Leon River near Gustine, Comanche County, TX, discovered by J. A. Evans in the early 1930's. Nut: oval elliptic with acute apex and base; 86 nuts/lb, 57% kernel; kernels with very shallow dorsal grooves. Protogynous. Susceptible to scab. Consistent in production. Unusual in having d allele for malate dehydrogenase, as does its progeny 'Sullivan'.
