'PSV-37' (Nut photo) Grown from 'Moreland' seed planted
about 1977 by R. D. O'Barr, LSU Pecan Research-Extension Station,
Shreveport, LA. Selected for attractive nut appearance and scab
resistance in early observations. Nut: oblong with acuminate apex
and obtuse base; flattened in cross section (shell appears "pinched"
in middle); shell smooth, with few markings except for black
stripes at apex; 56 nuts/lb, 55% kernel; kernels with medium
wide dorsal grooves; dorsal ridge thin and straight from fork
at basal cleft to point at apex (arrow-like). Under observation.
Not currently recommended.
